It’s time to wrap up the year, enjoy the festive season and have a little break before recharging the batteries and returning to business in the new year bigger and better – but not before a good Christmas celebration! In late November, the Work Wise Women of Grimsby got together for the final Tea Time Club of the year, the annual Festive Dinner.

Abbys Upstairs, in Abbeygate, Grimsby, was festively decorated for the occasion, and the Work Wise Women enjoyed a prosecco as they chatted before settling down to the delicious three course meal. Starters of creamy garlic mushrooms in a filo pastry basket, seafood roulade or mozarella…

… followed by mains of a roast turkey dinner, beef in a mushroom sauce, vegetable wellington or salmon with all the trimmings…

… and dessert; cheese board, cheese cake or a decadent chocolate amaretto torte.

Following the meal, there was a raffle, with some fabulous prizes to be won donated by the WWW members. The money raised from the raffle was donated to two local charities close to the networking group’s team.

This year, the Festive Dinner welcomed a very special guest speaker, Karen Attenborough.

Karen spoke to the members about her career as an actress (including her time on Grange Hill), her family and a new book she has been writing. The book, yet to be completed, will contain interviews with world renowned celebrities, including David Beckham and Danny Dyer; it sounds absolutely fascinating!

It was a fabulous evening with some great business women from across North East Lincolnshire. The Work Wise Women meet on the last Tuesday of every month, you can find out more about the networking group on their website.
