A marvellous new venue has opened up in Grimsby, a destination where you can sit back, relax and enjoy a selection of expertly crafted cocktails in super stylist surroundings, The Curious Cat.
The venue, which was formerly The Larder of Bethlehem Street and Abbeygate, has undergone a magnificent refurbishment, transforming a traditional tea room into a stylish bar with comfy, relaxed seating, rustic lighting and a selection of vintage-style artwork, whilst still retaining the Grade II listed Victorian charm of the original town-centre building.
This is the latest addition to the Abbys group of venues, which includes Abbys Bistro in Abbeygate, Grimsby, and Riverside Tapas & Cocktail Bar in Cleethorpes. The dark oak bar, which serves beer (such as Heineken Extra Cold), wine and Champgne, is also stocked with a fine selection of vodka, gin, whisky and cognac, including the prestigious House of Remy Martin Louis VIII.
As guests to the launch evenings arrived, the Prosecco with Chambord Caviar began to flow…
From today, The Curious Cat will be serving food, including gourmet burgers, skewers, deli boards and sides, such as truffle and parmesan fries. Guests of the launch were treated to a little sample of the upcoming menu; scotch eggs made with Lincolnshire pork and black pudding, chicken wings, maple glazed ham…
... and mojito cheesecake. How perfect for a cocktail bar?
Following the launch events, many of the guests made a similar comment; this is a venue that Grimsby has been missing. A classy destination bar that provides you with quite an experience, not to mention some wonderful, top quality cocktails.
The Curious Cat is now open to the public, from Tuesdays to Sundays from 11am, and you can find out more on the bar’s Facebook page.
