The Comfy Duck is becoming renowned within Lincolnshire for its inspired Afternoon Teas. The His ‘n’ Her variety has been the subject of many tweets and Instagram posts, and I have no doubt that the latest offering will garner much attention too, especially since it is supporting such a fantastic cause.

Throughout October, The Comfy Duck, of Oaklands Hall Hotel in Laceby, will be serving a Pink Afternoon Tea in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Guests can enjoy a Ham, Mustard & Honey savoury scone served with tomato chutney, a Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese & Rocket miniature Bagel, homemade Butternut Squash Soup topped with Curry Oil & Onion Bhaji and Sausages & Mash with homemade Onion Relish. To follow, there is a pink Macaron, Lime Posset topped with a Cosmo Sorbet, a miniature Black Forest Gateaux & a White Chocolate Torte with pink Frozen Berries, served with a small helping of pink Candy Floss, a choice of Tea or freshly brewed Stokes of Lincoln Coffee and a glass of Rosé Fizz.

Doesn’t it sound delightful?

The Pink Inspired Afternoon Tea was  created by Executive Head Chef Steven Bennett, who said: “Our Afternoon Teas are proving very popular and we wanted to create something that our customers can enjoy, whilst giving back to a worthy charity. Cancer is an illness that has affected many people, and it’s important that we do what we can to raise awareness, and if it means indulging in a luxurious tea that oozes sophistication and glamour, then why not?”

According to Breast Cancer Care, one in eight women in the UK will develop Breast Cancer in their lifetime, and it is the second most common cause of death from cancer in women in the UK*. However, more than eight out of 10 (85%) people survive breast cancer beyond five years*, which is why it is so important to continue supporting research, treatment and charitable organisations. 10% of each of The Comfy Duck’s Pink Afternoon Teas will be donated to the Pink Rose Suite of Grimsby’s Diana, Princess of Wales Hopsital.

Pink Afternoon Tea will be served from from 5th to 31st October, Mondays to Saturdays from 12pm to 4.30pm, and Sundays from 2pm until 5pm. Booking is highly recommended, and you can contact the restaurant via their website.
