Whilst browsing the gardening stalls and the Flower Show and Floral Decorations competition entries at the Lincolnshire Show, there were three colours which dominated the entries; purple, pink and blue.
July may mean that summer is well underway, but there is still time to plant blooms to enjoy for the rest of the summer (but be quick!).
Whilst purple flowers add a relaxing, welcoming touch to your garden’s floral beds, pinks are vibrant and blue calms with it’s cool shade; together, the hues create a stunning landscape, especially when a bold, white bloom is thrown into the mix too. As well as the combination of colours, the displays were created from flowers of contrasting textures, from soft, romantic flowers to the more sharp, harder flowers – a must for flower beds of similar colours.
Here’s a little inspiration if you’re still planting, or are planning next summer’s garden.
