This is something I’m so excited about. Something I’ve been involved with for a few months. Something that is finally launching this week!
A group of professionals, entrepreneurs and freelancers (including yours truly!) have come together, thanks to the Business Hive, to create a brand new network – Business Hive Next Gen. It’s been established to provide like-minded people with an opportunity to meet, learn and do business. And, it’s especially for those aged between 18 and 40.
This is why I am so happy to be a part of it – because it’s for people my age!
Networking isn’t my strong point. It’s something I used to force myself to do in the early days of my freelancing career. It was NEVER something I did during my time as a Magazine Features Writer (amazingly). But, as I’ve grown and become more confident within the business community, I’ve come to enjoy going to events and getting to know a whole new group of people. And, I genuinely believe so much can be gained by talking to peers who are at a similar stage of their career but yet have a whole different area of expertise.
What I love about networking – the more fun, informal kind of networking – is getting to learn from other members, hearing them talk about their experiences and being able to have a chat about your own questions, thoughts and projects.
When the Steering Group first met to discuss this new network, this was something we all agreed on. That we would provide a series of welcoming, chilled events with a focus on support through socialising. We have some great events planned for this year, and all will be revealed at our launch TOMORROW, 6pm at Tale of Two in Cleethorpes.
There is still time to book on and come along! You can find more details on the Business Hive Next Gen page. Plus, we’re on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, so please give us a follow to see what we’re up to!
