So, last weekend was pretty colourful…

For the second time, Cleethorpes became the host of Colour Run, a super fun 5k(ish) race with blasts of pink, purple, blue, green, yellow and orange powder paint. After missing last year’s sell-out event, I made sure I secured my ticket nice and early!

Hundreds of people gathered at Cleethorpes’ Meridian Showground in their white t-shirts ready to start the fun run. The atmosphere was brilliant! You could hear the warm-up music booming as you approached the gates, and it wasn’t long before the colour started to spread…

After warming up (and by warming up, I mean dancing!), the run began – but not before a giant blast of green paint at the start line!

The route took you around one of my favourite places to run; past the Greenwich Meridian Line and the local nature reserve, along the Coast Light Railway to the Leisure Centre, before heading back on the main road and along the Boating Lake – with powder paint stations located throughout. You crossed the finish line at Meridian Showground, where friends and families waited and cheered on the runners.

After a drink of water, it was time for some final paint and one last dance…

Not only did so many families and friends have a lot of fun, but profits from the event’s ticket sales went towards Inspire TCI Supporting Local Champions, a charity which helps talented sports men, women and children in their chosen sport. You can find out more about the charity right here.
