Last week we celebrated National Piña Colada Day. Well, good news cocktail lovers, today gives us another perfect excuse to make a batch of fabulously fruity cocktails – National Daiquiri Day!
If a smooth, creamy beverage isn’t your thing, then you should try this sweet but zingy cocktail instead, made with fresh, juicy strawberries. Daiquiris were said to have been invented in the early 1900s in the town of Daiquiri in Cuba by Jennings Cox, an American Mining Engineer. He made these drinks to entertain the workers of the mine in hot summer months. Now, this classic rum-based recipe is enjoyed worldwide, and is a perfect concoction for summer.
