For those who have ever dreamed about a career in the creative, ever-innovative beauty industry but have never taken the leap, now is your chance as Lincoln College expands it’s range of hair and beauty therapy courses.
Those who are searching for a job, looking to get back into work after a career break, or want to set up their own business, can now attend new Level 2, 3 and 4 part-time and full-time courses specially designed for success in various areas of the beauty industry, including manicure, waxing, complementary therapies, hair colour correction, barbering and salon management. Degree qualifications in herbal medicine and acupuncture are being introduced, as well as a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy aimed at existing hair stylists and beauty therapists aged 16 and over who want to further their skills.
Programme Manager for Hairdressing, Angela Haberton said: “The hair and beauty sector is well established and offers a wide variety of exciting full-time and part-time employment opportunities. A lot of our former students are either working in a salon or spa, running their own business, working overseas or on cruise ships. Some are even working as make-up artists for TV, film or theatre companies.”
Anyone aged 16 and over can apply for the programmes, which will be fully funded for students aged up to 18, or for those who are unemployed. Students aged 24 and over who wish to study Level 3 or 4 qualifications may be eligible for a 24+ loan from the Government.
Programme Manager for Beauty Therapy and Complementary Medicine, Tmasyn Lawton added: “There are so many opportunities available ranging from part-time evening classes to full-time degree courses, many of which are free to eligible students.
“There’s still time to enrol for this year so if you are looking for a rewarding and diverse career get in touch with our advisers who can provide information on the courses as well as financial advice and support.”
